Architect tulle

Architect tulle is a certain kind of curtains which was especially popular in the 50s and 60s. However, this knitted fabric with its geometrical woven, latticed structure has been well-known for more than 100 years.

The cloth is made in the so-called chain-weaving technique has a flowing appearance. It is permeable to light and air. As an additional benefit it is dimensionally stable and not as susceptible to shifting as woven goods. Therefore, it is often used instead of a curtain.

Since 1970 this cloth has been mainly made of polyester as this synthetic fibre is a good wrinkling stopper. It can also be found made of a mixture from cotton and polyester. Architect tulle can be applied very well in living rooms and is celebrating its comeback at the moment.

Often the tulle has beautiful patterns whose extensive perforations are strictly geometric and often diamond-shaped, rectangular, honeycombed or circular. For the Architect tulle these patterns are repeated uniformly or change in the same order.
