Velvet (Samt)

A cloth with a pile, which is shorter than 3 mm, is called velvet. Velvet can be manufactured from several fabrics, so you can use cotton, silk and synthetic fibres for its production.

Velvet is seldom used for the manufacturing of net curtains, the production mainly focuses on curtains and upholstery. For these productions all kinds of velvet are suitable, however, its processing can be problematic.(Seide, synthetische Fasern)

In the course of processing some things have to be considered. For example the seams are only allowed to be sewed according to the pile direction, otherwise the fabric would contract. Certainly, this should be avoided, because unwanted folds would not look very pretty.

Curtains made from velvet can appear beautiful in every room – it only depends on the right colour. Additionally, the curtains must match the net curtains and the furniture of the room. The prices for velveteen curtains are quite reasonable.(Stoff, Vorhänge, Gardinen)
