This is a certain kind of cloth whose pattern is created by burning out the fabric. These cloths are popular for curtains and are fashionable in up-to-date interior design. Since these cloths are denser than usual net curtains but more transparent then curtains they are called “in-between fabrics”.

For some years they have been produced from fully-synthetic cloths which have the advantage that they do not shrink being washed and are hardly inflammable. Burnout fabrics are also often used as material for modern vertical blinds.

Here the patterns, e.g. a flower print are burned out in a special method. This cloths can as well be found as window shades, e.g. as organza burnout and as Roman shades. These shades appear very transparent and delicate and often show beautiful designs. As even velvet can be burned out very elegant curtains are available in burnout.
